Danone Indonesia’s Pioneering Role in Water Stewardship at the World Water Forum 2024

Danone Indonesia, a leading player in the consumer goods industry in Indonesia, participated as the exclusive water sponsor at the 10th World Water Forum (WWF 2024), the largest international gathering in the water sector involving various stakeholders, held on May 18 to May 25, 2024. Carrying the theme “Water for Shared Prosperity”, the forum was officially opened by the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, and served as a crucial platform for Danone Indonesia to connect and strengthen its relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and the community.

The event also served as a strategic platform for Danone Indonesia to demonstrate its commitment to tackling global water challenges and reinforce its reputation as a responsible corporate entity. It allowed Danone to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable practices and community support, while also aligning its initiatives with national and international efforts to solidify its leadership in water stewardship.

Danone Indonesia actively participated in forum discussions and workshops, advocating for collaborative efforts in water preservation and showcasing its Danone Water Policy aimed at achieving 100% access to safe drinking water in Indonesia.

Brightminds Communications was tasked by Danone Indonesia to develop a well-rounded media engagement strategy to elevate the company’s presence at the event and reinforce its positive corporate perception. Key media activities included high-profile interviews, such as a segment on CNBC’s Nation Hub featuring a representative from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and Vera Galuh, Vice President General Secretary of Danone Indonesia; and an exclusive interview on CNN Indonesia’s “Insight with Desi Anwar”.

Furthermore, a thought leadership article was published in The Jakarta Post, and two press releases were distributed to highlight Danone Indonesia’s initiatives. These emphasized the company’s involvement in WWF 2024 and its support for the Indonesian government, particularly the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR)’s efforts to improve access to clean water and sanitation. Further amplifying media and public awareness, several media outlets placed Danone Indonesia on their social media accounts and published a feature article about the company’s water stewardship initiatives in Sungai Ayung, Bali.

As of June 27, 2024, these efforts resulted in 136 national and international publications, including social media posts, which significantly highlighted Danone Indonesia’s positive reputation. Brightminds’ strategic and comprehensive approach has significantly boosted Danone Indonesia’s presence and reputation during the WWF 2024. The extensive media coverage and stakeholder engagement demonstrated Danone Indonesia’s dedication to supporting the government’s water and sanitation goals, positioning the company as a pivotal player in Indonesia & global’s water management efforts.
